ABOUT WORKIN' GIRL

You better werk.

My name is Jessika. But everyone calls me Jess. From an early age, I knew I had a strong voice. When asked “what do you want to be when you grow up”, as a kindergartener I  responded with “myself”.  My strong voice of influence will one day move people in a great way. In the winter of 2019, I experienced a dream that I created a blog. Each night the same dream would repeat and get more and more detailed with information about the name, the topics I would speak about and the impact it would have on people’s lives. Little did I know, those dreams were snippets of what was to come.

Workin’ Girl became public in January of 2019. I talked up this blog I was creating to anyone who would listen and I created an Instagram page to begin posting content. Sounds like I was doing it right? Fast forward 4 months later, I had no website, didn’t write a single blog and I was in the same spot. Talking but not actioning. The Lord confronted me about my disobedience. Where my head was compared to my heart of pursuing Workin Girl was disconnected. He told me that what I was doing was wrong and the dreams I had shouldn’t be taken lightly. Instead of focusing on the clout of telling everyone what I was doing, the only person who needed to know what I was workin on was God.

Workin' Girl launched in the right way Setepmeber of 2019 and is a women’s empowerment community for those of us who would rather not go out on the weekends because they're trying to sow into their future. It's for the girls who don't know how to love themselves in a world where everyone wants to tear them down.  It's for the girls who know God, want to know God, and searching for ways to live a transformed life. Workin' Girl is for all the women who want to do better and be better in areas that are fruitful to who God wants them to become. Them girls who respond with "Oh nothing, just workin'!" and believe that being “in my bag' ' isn't just a cliche saying, but it's true. Focused in on many things that actually matter.

I invite you to join this community, engage in our blog posts, and follow us on Instagram. Let us be women workin to win, together.
